New album by Sinikka Langeran! Combines Bach with improvisation and folklore! Norwegian singer and cantele player Sinikka Langeland! New album on the theme of "Maria Magdalena" (Mary Magdalene)! The program is a combination of Bach's Organ Concerto and Suite for Unaccompanied Cello (viola version) with her own compositions, improvisations, and traditional pieces. Norwegian folk musician Sinikka Langeland Sinikka Langeland is known for her characteristic revitalization of Norwegian folk music with modern thinking and feeling. Her new album for LAWO Classics, "Maria Magdalena," complements her previous album with a new song about the crucified and anguished Jesus. The album is based on the theme of Maria Magdalena, one of the most important women in the Christian world who watched over Jesus during his crucifixion and suffering.The program includes "Songs of Magdalena" and hymns sung by Sorel, Telemark, and Gublinsdalen, "Organ Concerto in G major" by J. S. Bach, "Chorale Fantasy" and "Suite No. 6 in D major for Unaccompanied Cello" performed by the viola. The movements "Allegro," "Grave," and "Presto" of the "Concerto" and the "Prelude," "Armando," "Clanto," "Sarabande," "Gavotte," and "Gigue" of the "Suite" will be performed with "improvisation" by Langerand's vocal and cantellet performance, songs she composed, and traditional songs based on folk songs. The performance will be accompanied by a mix of Langerang's vocal and cantele "improvisations," songs written by her, and traditional songs based on folk songs.
