Fragrant Chopin music. Gbor Farkas has been a professor at the Tokyo College of Music since May 2017. Following his Schumann album (KKC 5776/HCD 32798), this highly anticipated new recording is a collection of Chopin ballades and improvisations. After graduating from the Liszt School of Music, Farkas completed his master's and doctoral studies under the tutelage of the late Zoltan Kocsis, Tams Vshri, and other performers. In 2009, he won the first prize at the 6th International Liszt Competition in Weimar, as well as the Audience Award and the Haydn Sonata Best Performance Award. Since 2011, he has been a professor at the Liszt School of Music, his alma mater. In addition to his solo activities, he is also actively involved in chamber music, and has released an album (HCD 32760) with Christoph Barati featuring works by Sarasate, Wieniawski, and others. Chopin's ballades and improvisations are Farkas's strongest suites.She sings beautiful Chopin with clear and solid pianism backed by her advanced technique.
